Connect it#
In Homla, open Connectors, then Email (IMAP/SMTP), and press Connect an account. Enter the mailbox details your email provider gives you. Most providers ask you to create an app password for this, instead of your normal password.
What your AI can do#
These are the actions Homla gives your AI. Your role decides which ones you get. Write actions are a dry run until confirmed, see Approvals and dry runs.
Read#
Looks things up, never changes anything.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
imap_folders_list | List the mailbox's folders with their role (Sent, Drafts, Trash...) and message and unread counts. |
imap_mail_list | List messages in a folder, newest first. |
imap_mail_search | Search a folder (or every folder with folder:"*") by text, sender, recipient, subject and dates. |
imap_mail_get | Fetch one message: headers, decoded text body, attachment list. |
imap_thread_get | Fetch the conversation a message belongs to (its folder plus Sent), matched on Message-ID and References, oldest first, with bodies. |
Write#
Creates or changes things, as the account owner.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
imap_mail_send Deletes | Send a NEW email over SMTP (copy filed in Sent), or save it to Drafts with draft:true. |
imap_mail_reply Deletes | Reply to a message: threads it (In-Reply-To, References), quotes the original, marks it answered. |
imap_mail_update Deletes | Mark messages read/unread or flagged, move them to a folder, or delete them (to Trash, or permanently). |
