Connect it#
In Homla, open Connectors, then Apify. The Setup guide button walks you through the same steps, with fields to paste into.
Who can do it. Anyone with an Apify account can create a personal token. For a company connection, use an Apify organization: its owner (or a member with the "Manage access tokens" permission) can create an Organization API token that is not tied to any person. Every run started through Homla is billed to the account that owns the token.
Recommended. Prefer an Organization API token: it belongs to the organization, not to a member, so it keeps working when someone leaves and every run shows up under the organization. A personal token acts as that person and spends their own credit.
- Open API & Integrations in Apify ConsoleSign in to Apify Console. For a company connection, switch to your organization first (account menu, top left), then open the API & Integrations page. Open it.
- Create a token named HomlaClick Create a new token, name it Homla so you can find it later, and optionally set an expiration date. Organization owners see a separate Organization API tokens section: create it there. Open it.
- Limit the token to what Homla needs (recommended)In the same dialog, turn on Limit token permissions and grant, at account level: Actors: Run; Actor runs: Read (and Abort if people should be able to stop runs); Datasets: Read. Turn on access to the default storages of the runs it triggers, so Homla can read the results. Store search needs no permission. Without Run, the read tools still work and apify_run_start returns Apify's permission error. Open it.
Any token that can run Actors can spend your Apify credit. Homla caps each run at 1 USD unless the person asks for more (100 USD maximum), and you can also set a monthly usage limit in Apify Console under Billing.
- Copy the tokenSave the token, then use the copy icon next to it. Apify tokens start with apify_api_. Open it.
Treat the token like a password: paste it straight into Homla, never into a chat or an email.
- Paste it into HomlaIn Homla, open Connectors, then Apify, then Connect. Paste the token into Apify API token and save. Homla encrypts it and never shows it again. Open it.
What your AI can do#
These are the actions Homla gives your AI. Your role decides which ones you get. Write actions are a dry run until confirmed, see Approvals and dry runs.
Read#
Looks things up, never changes anything.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
apify_store_search | Search Apify Store for Actors (scrapers) by keyword, e.g. |
apify_actor_get | One Actor's details and its input schema (fields, types, defaults, required) plus example input. |
apify_runs_list | List recent Actor runs on the account, newest first. |
apify_run_get | A run's status, cost and dataset id. |
apify_dataset_items | Read a page of a dataset (or a run's dataset). |
Write#
Creates or changes things, as the account owner.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
apify_run_start | Run an Actor with input, spend capped by max_charge_usd. |
apify_run_abort | Stop a running Actor run. |
Disconnect it#
In Homla, open the account menu on the tool's page and choose Disconnect. Anyone it was shared with loses access at once. To cut it off on the tool's side too:
To cut Homla off, delete the Homla token on the API & Integrations page. To rotate, use Rotate on the same token (Apify can keep the old one alive for 24 hours), paste the new value into the same Homla form, and the old one stops working.
